Head to our Nordic Christmas wonderland and meet Santa in his Grotto.
It's officially Santa's busiest time of year, but that’s not stopping him jetting in from Lapland to find out who has been behaving themselves. It’s sure to be a truly magical experience. Don’t forget to bring your wish list too, so his elves can start preparing their Christmas deliveries!
Find our magical trail in our gallery space above Next. Simply take the escalator from the upper mall up to the grotto entrance where you’ll be greeted by a friendly elf before embarking on your magical journey to meet Santa. Once you've told Santa exactly what's on your Christmas list this year, he'll present you with a small gift to get you in to the festive spirit. The grotto will be open from Friday 23 November right up until Christmas Eve.

Where can I book to see Santa?
We recommend you book in advance to avoid disappointment online at www.intu.co.uk/watford. Santa’s elves will take bookings at the grotto for days in advance and on the same day if available. Please visit the box office on the upper mall outside Next. We recommend you visit the grotto as soon as you arrive at the shopping centre if you haven’t made a booking so you can plan your day shopping and avoid disappointment.
How early should I arrive before my time of booking?
Please arrive for the beginning of your time slot - for example if your ticket is booked for 11am-11:30am then you will need to arrive for 11am and expect to see Santa between the times stated on your booking slot.
Why can’t I book an exact time slot, why is it in 30 mins time slots?
Santa’s elves try their very best to get you in at the time you have booked but to avoid disappointment and delays, customers book into 30 minute time so it ensures that you get to see Santa sometime between 11am – 11.30am.
How long does the experience last?
Approximately 5 – 10 mins plus time with Santa in his chamber. This will depend on your child’s interaction with the activities.
Can I bring my buggy inside the grotto?
Unfortunately there isn’t enough space to bring buggy’s and prams into the grotto. The centre has provided a buggy park area just outside the grotto for you to leave it there. Please do not leave anything valuable inside it, the centre is not responsible for anything that is lost while you leave your buggy out.
Is the grotto suitable for children with disabilities?

We will be allocating Autism Hours on specific dates in December designed specifically for children with autism. There will be a limited number of walk up tickets available between 10am-11am on the following dates: 5 December, 6 December, 12 December and 13 December
