Discover our unique selection of independent retailers

Support local at our independent shops.

Food, fashion and funky furniture. What more could you ask for? intu Victoria Centre is home to a bunch of  brilliant independent retailers. We caught up with our local businesses to get some tips and tricks of the trade.

2 Magpies Design

Independent interior store, 2 Magpies Design, located on the upper mall, boasts a range of eclectic furniture and home accessories from across the world. Manager, Claire gives us an insight into her business:

"I love being able to offer a really personal service to all of my customers. I manage to engage with each and every visitor to the store which allows me to fulfil their needs as much as possible. The best part of my job is being able to get creative with the customer - everyone likes something different and the personal touch really sets me a challenge! My products are all exclusive and where possible can be tailored to the client. An interesting fact about my store is that I often travel to foreign countries to source my stock. I always look out for interesting products; The more niche, the better."

We recommend that you check the upcycling service 2 Magpies Design offer – the team there can bring a lease of new life back into an old piece of furniture and more importantly the piece will be totally bespoke for you.

Relic x Hooked

Vintage clothes store  Relic X Hooked, which has recently moved into a new unit of the upper mall near Caffe Rizzoli , joined the centre back in 2019 and has gone from strength to strength. The team in store bought us up to speed with how they run their small business:

"Relic is the only local retailer where you can buy, sell and trade in person. We offer a cash exchange, right here on the day, so pop by with your best vintage bits and the team can check them out for you. Our staff personally pick all of the stock on offer - and even better they created the whole store themselves, from floor to ceiling! We can even personalise items for you to give a customised finish to your items."

Keep an eye out for their special edition products including shoes that you cannot get your hands on anywhere else.

Clean Cut Kitchen

Clean Cut Kitchen are the go-to for tasty but clean eating in Nottingham. You can find them on the lower mall at Clocktower dining. Antonio, the store manager and business owner, gave us the run down on how they're going to conquer the food industry with fresh and healthy food.

"Here at Clean Cut Kitchen we're all about promoting a healthy lifestyle. Whether that's through regular exercise or nutritious foods, it's never been more important to look after our health. All of our produce is sourced locally, from Nottingham based butchers to veggies purchased from the Victoria Markets. I'm really proud that our restaurant helps to support other small businesses, especially those local to Nottingham."

Antonio's top tip is to try the range of healthy burgers at Clean Cut Kitchen. Each burger is handcrafted and as far from mass produced as you could imagine. They do burgers for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans so whatever your choice, pop in and give them a try!
