You will act as a subject matter expert, and provide technical support to centre management, operational staff, retailers and stakeholders.

Advise on developmental aspects of public life safety including fire and emergency systems and emergency evacuation procedures.

In line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005 conduct fire risk assessments within landlord areas of the centre and manage the of the delivery of actions, working closely with operational departments to ensure actions arising are addressed in a timely manner.

You will drive, communicate and implement company policy, in accordance with the Health and safety at work act and  the OSHAS 18001 Health and Safety  system that is designed to deliver measurable cultural, behavioural and procedural improvements in Fire and Health and Safety performance across the centre.

Establish and maintain a solid working partnership with the Fire Authority and ensure that operational plans coincide.

Play a pivotal role in the shop fit process within the centre, attending to and advising on design-phase fire safety compliance queries and signing off units to open for trade in accordance with the intu shop fit process.

Deliver the tenant fire audit programme ensuring targets are delivered in line with group policy.

Develop and deliver fire safety training and educational programs that will enable the highest level of competence across our stakeholders within the centre.

Conduct investigations of fire (actual fires, false alarms) and safety incidents and accidents producing effective reports based around reducing incident/accident exposures and risk reduction.

Assist in the completion of health and safety audits within the centre.

Provide progress reports on all aspects of fire safety at the centre.

Maintain professional qualifications and continuous professional development

You will work so as to maintain the security of all the centre property, equipment and information at all times, whilst meeting the requirements of the data protection actand keeping confidential all business and staff information.

Respond to customer queries in a professional and timely manner in line with Company Policy.

You will act as a deputy in the absence of the Health and Safety Manager, and as such will be a confident decision maker, posses strong leadership skills and have people management experience.

Essential requirements:

  • Experienced and competent Fire Risk Assessor
  • Experience of shopping Centre fire safety management.
  • Experience of consulting and advising on fire design considerations at design and construction phase of commercial refurbishments.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate.

Desirable requirements

  • NEBOSH Fire Certificate
  • Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers.
