          Summary of the role:

 The Night Security Supervisor (NSS) is accountable to the Guest Duty Manager (GDM) for the support, management and delivery of security.  This will include compliance, statutory, contractual and company regulations and processes. The NSS will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service are provided to the client and customers at all times. Team building and staff morale will be a priority of the jobholder. The SS will be expected to positively contribute to the performance, growth and profitability of the business.

This role will include a variety of tasks including the following:

  • To support  the GDM in the operational management and delivery of all manned security within the shopping centre
  • Ensuring that the centre meets the security KPI standard required
  • Focus the Security team on providing excellent customer service to all customers
  • Ensure compliance with all internal procedures, site processes and external bodies including enforcement agencies and auditory bodies
  • Control and deliver the security rotas ensuring correct manning levels and compliance are maintained at all times
  • Manage staff attendance records in line with company procedures
  • Motivate and monitor the team to achieve the highest possible standards of service delivery
  • Maintain standards of performance, discipline and welfare for the team in accordance with company policies
  • Understand client requirements and provide security solutions to meet and exceed needs
  • To manage excellent relationships with our client, our suppliers and other partners
  • To support the GDM in  development and training of staff
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting the GDM in the continuous review and implementation of security management best practice into the team
  • Monitor and improve the levels of customer satisfaction for security delivery
  • Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events
  • To ensure that records are held and updated as required
  • To deliver the security operation within the approved budgetary framework
  • To work closely with stakeholder organisations to deliver the centres crime prevention policy


  • Support GDM in operational HR responsibilities to retain and develop the security team
  • To set objectives for officers as part of the review process
  • To deliver excellent communications and motivation for all direct reports
  • To work with HR and GDM to ensure all new starters are vetted, inducted, trained and licensed in accordance to the contractual and statutory requirements
  • To ensure objectives, performance reviews and Toolbox Talks are completed as per company policy
  • To identify training needs and ensure accurate site records are maintained at all times
  • To reduce labour turnover by proactively managing people issues in co-operation with other internal departments

           Qualifications, Experience and Expectations of employer:


  • Successful track record of delivering security solutions to internal client base
  • Dual SIA licensed (CCTV / Security or Door Supervisor) .


  • Substantial experience in the supervision of people, including training
  • Experience within teams where motivation and development have been key drivers
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams effectively
  • Demonstrable experience of developing operational solutions for successful business development
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills
  • Capability to work unsupervised and take responsibility
  • Aptitude to remain calm under pressure
