Recently we invited local blogger Shelley Loves to come to the centre to get some New Year beauty inspiration for those looking to change up their beauty routine.
Here’s what she had to say about her day out….
First Stop, John Lewis
My first stop was John Lewis where I was treated to a complimentary blow dry with the amazing new Dyson Airwrap. This service is free - how good is that?
Dyson is known for its innovative technology and the Airwrap certainly didn't disappoint. It's a multi-use styling tool that creates lots of different looks without the need for excessive heat. It blow-dries, curls, waves, smooths, straightens and volumizes and works across a range of hair types. It has four heat and three speed settings and the complete styling kit comes with six styling attachments.
Whilst in John Lewis I met with Paula from their personal styling team for a free styling session. The styling suite was lovely and Paula was very approachable and helpful. A colour consultation service is given with every styling session and once again, is complimentary!
Wearing colours that complement our natural colouring can make us look healthier and younger. Paula asked me about my lifestyle, clothes, make-up, shopping habits and what I like to wear and then looked at my skin tone, eye and hair colour. She showed me the range of colours that complemented all of this and discussed ways in which to wear them which was amazing and I felt like I really learned something.
Time for a makeover at The Body Shop
Next up was The Body Shop for a makeover. Again, this is a complimentary service you can take advantage of in store with their professional store consultants. They help you select the right products suitable for your skin type.
My skin was prepared first and was cleansed, toned and moisturised. Mitra (my consultant) asked me about my skincare routine and then chose products that she thought would be most appropriate.
Mitra then asked what kind of overall look I wanted and what beauty products I usually use. The foundation that she picked was an exact match for my skin tone and was applied using a foundation brush - the result was flawless.
The rest of the makeup was great too it was fabulous talking through the products and I really liked the mascara, eye shadow and bronzer. When the makeover was finished she gave me a list of the products she used so I have them for future reference.
Nailista Brow and Nail bar at TopShop
Finally, I visited the Nailista Brow and Nail bar which is located within (the huge) Topshop. I chose to have their Signature Style manicure, which includes full cuticle removal, file and buff, hand massage and hot mitts, finished with a polish colour of your choice from their huge OPI selection.
I went for a classic red which looked beautiful. I have to say the ladies were all super helpful and I felt I was really pampered and looked after.
intu Trafford Centre is definitely worth a visit as it has so much to offer.
