30 new jobs as restaurant team prepares to stretch, toss and serve
4,000 pizzas in its first month

Pizza lovers are in for a treat with the opening of a new PizzaExpress at the Intu Potteries Shopping Centre in Stoke. The restaurant, which can seat 157 people, means jobs for 30 new team members, including 8 pizzaiolos and 14 waiters and waitresses.  An estimated 1,480 kilos of dough will be used in the first month as the team prepares to serve up 4,000 pizzas and 2,000 portions of PizzaExpress’ iconic Dough Balls.

Each PizzaExpress restaurant is individually designed – often using well known places, people or historical events from the area as the basis. The new restaurant uses both handmade and industrial ceramic tiles in tribute to the importance of the pottery manufacturing industry. And richly upholstered banquette and comfortable booths are flanked by chevron panelling and murals, which will include the Stoke motto, Unita Fortior (United Strength is Stronger).

Brian Orme, manager of PizzaExpress , said, “We have a beautiful new restaurant and can’t wait to show it off to our customers. We have a friendly and enthusiastic team who are looking forward to welcoming everyone over a delicious pizza.”

PizzaExpress has just launched an exciting new menu, including Calamari and Risotto Mio as starters, an addition to the ‘Al Forno’ range, the Pennette Bolognese, and a new Formaggi 65 pizza cheese delight. Among the new desserts are Bombolini, small doughnut balls with a jam centre, served with gelato, and Salted Caramel Profiteroles Dolcetti.

For younger pizza-lovers, PizzaExpress’ Piccolo menu is full of tasty choices including ‘Create Your Own’ pizza, and starts at just £3.95.

And this Christmas, PizzaExpress has pulled together festive favourites and given them a cheeky twist. From Brussels Sprout pizzas and Mulled Sloe Gin, to Salted Caramel Profiteroles and a Chocolate Orange Torte, there’s something for everyone.
