What a privilege it would be to actually be the person turning on Milton Keynes’ Christmas lights...well, we’re giving you the chance to do just that!
We have invited the Mayor of Milton Keynes, Cllr Derek Eastman, to press the button and light up the City but he needs a helping hand. Do you think you could handle this very important job? Make sure you're here tomorrow to find out how to be in with a chance of winning!
This year is the first time that Milton Keynes has had a City Centre light switch on; Midsummer Boulevard will be lit up from the train station all the way up to intu Milton Keynes. We have teamed up with Milton Keynes Council and Centre:MK to put on a festive fun-filled day to celebrate the official Christmas light switch on.
The day kicks off with Breakfast with Bailey at 9:30 – 10am, fans of Britain’s Got Talent’s Bailey McConnell can meet and greet the teen musician and get that all important selfie with him. There will then be entertainment throughout the day on stage with local talent showing off their musical and dance skills. In Centre, Gulliver’s Land and Milton Keynes Theatre are hosting children’s workshops prior to the annual Christmas mascot parade at 4:10pm which leads the way to the main stage in time for the big light switch on at 5pm.
