intu Milton Keynes turns over a new leaf for autumn fashion with designer collaboration
Published on 24/01/2019

intu Milton Keynes is preparing to turn over a new leaf for its autumn/winter 15 fashion campaign, and for the first time ever the shopping centre has teamed up with a critically acclaimed fashion designer - Celia Birtwell.

Globally-renowned print designer Celia Birtwell has worked with the who’s who of the fashion industry including world famous Italian fashion house Valentino and has been commissioned by intu to create an exclusive print for autumn winter 15 creating the brand’s first ever fashion collaboration.

As part of the centre’s autumnal fashion events showcasing this season’s key looks, customers visiting intu Milton Keynes will have the chance to get their hands on a limited edition bag featuring the exclusive Celia Birtwell print unique to intu, which combines two of the season’s must-have colours along with a decadent print.

The launch coincides with the introduction of the UK government’s plastic bag tax policy, which will see shops charge 5p per bag from Monday 5 October. As a small gesture, on this day, the first 50 people to the Customer Information Desk outside Debenhams will receive a free bag.

Staff uniforms have also been treated to a little designer luxury with the addition of an exclusive Celia Birtwell scarf with the new print design. The new scarves will be worn by staff across the centre as they celebrate the start of the new autumn/winter 15 season from 1 October.

Staff at the Milton Keynes shopping centre will join a list of lucky celebs who have had an exclusive print created for them including the likes of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Jimmy Hendrix.

Shelley Peppard, intu Milton Keynes general manager said: “Our centre teams love presenting seasonal fashions to our customers and this autumn winter fashion collection is no exception, as it gives customers a chance to see first-hand what styles to add to their wardrobes and we are especially thrilled with such an amazing designer collaboration. Celia Birtwell is an inspiring designer to work with and staff across the centre are proud to wear her print. It’s also great to celebrate the new season’s trends by rewarding our customers with the exclusive bags.”

Customers will be given a exclusive bag with every gift card purchase available at the Customer Information Desk outside Debenhams.
