intu Milton Keynes are looking for a CCTV Control Room Officer.

This role is 56 hours a week, working on a rolling rota Monday - Sunday and offering an annual salary of GBP 28,938.

Reporting to the Security Control Room Team Leader our Security Control Room Operative will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer services are provided to retailers and guests at intu Milton Keynes. Working within a busy control room environment you will undertake the day to day monitoring of security services within the control room and support our frontline security teams in a proactive and timely manner. This will include monitoring all access control, CCTV, detection alarm systems and provide effective reporting to the wider security team and relevant third parties stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

To be responsible for the operation of the Centre's CCTV system within the parameters set out in the code of practice and operational procedures on a 24 hour shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays as required.

To operate and utilise the CCTV system in an efficient and effective manner to identify, observe, and record unlawful and anti-social activity in intu Milton Keynes Shopping Centre and to take appropriate action to events seen.

To communicate with, and coordinate, Shop Safe, emergency services and the police as necessary and in a professional and courteous manner at all times, especially during periods of unlawful activity and during incidents.

To record all incidents and action taken in a clear legible and accurate written format, including the maintenance of digital images library, logbooks and filling systems.

To investigate all footage of an incident to extract the maximum amount of information from every camera angle. This evidence may be used in court.

To control access of all visitors to the control room in order to maintain the high security and confidentiality of the CCTV system.

The Control Room Operator will be expected to wear the uniform provided at all times when on duty.

To be fully conversant with the Centres Building Management System. They will regularly check that all plant and lighting is being utilised to its optimum times.

To be fully conversant and input directly all incidents into the Info Exchange system.

To ensure that all Control Room equipment is functioning correctly and all faults are reported to Centre Management and the appropriate contractor to ensure a swift resolution of the problem.

To monitor the Car Park Equipment/Computer  to ensure the smooth operation of the car park to maximise usage.

To pass and maintain an S.I.A. CCTV  license qualification.

To be familiar with the Centres Crisis Management Plan and implement the plan when appropriate.

To become familiar with all aspects of key control in accordance with operational instructions. Maintaining a high degree of accuracy when logging keys in and out of the control room.

To become proficient in the issuing of notification of works to those shops that are expecting contractors on site and the issuing of work permits to all contractors. Where hot works or other potentially dangerous activities  will be taking place ensure relevant staff are informed and they attend to the contractor carrying out the works.

To become proficient in completing Centre fire tests on a daily basis. Ensuring an accurate log is maintained  and passed to the fire advisor on a weekly basis.

To cover on the mall as needed.

CCTV Licenced

Doors/Guarding licence

Professional or further qualification in Security
