Topshop at intu Milton Keynes are looking for a new Brand Manager!

This is a 9 month maternity cover role.

This role will be 39 hours a week minimum.

Definition of the role:

Topshop/Topman Brand Manager leads the team to deliver the Brand vision “Fashion. With Authority”. They need to love everything about service so that they can inspire and lead the sales floor team to ensure a “World Class shopping experience” is delivered, day in, day out. The challenge of working in a Core store is getting the balance right between commercial, visual and operational expectations, to deliver the Brand vision. 

Scope of the role:

Turnovers range from £1 million to £11 million. You may be responsible for up to two Deputy Brand Managers with anything between 25 and 95 team members the floor space could be as small as 2,000sq.ft. or as large as 21,000 sq. Being a Fashion Role Model and loving the trends and product that you sell comes naturally, it’s what you are all about.


Commercial Flair:

  • You ensure visual and creative excellence is delivered in line with Brand guidelines and Field Visual Merchandising teams.
  • Using all commercial tools available, you can effectively identify risks and take action to increase sales.
  • You motivate and lead the team to deliver the daily and weekly sales targets by challenging the commercial layout
  • You pro-actively seek, anticipate and respond to shifting trends and new market opportunities by understanding your competition.
  • You really understand your customer base and work relentlessly to ensure that the right product is in the right place to maximise your sales.

Future Focus:

  • You seek opportunities and areas to improve, encouraging the team to try new ideas to drive the business forward.
  • You plan ahead to anticipate the next big deal in store.
  • You embrace the development of multi-channel advancements and understand the commercial impact it has on our business.

Driving Results

  • You drive improved business performance through continued focus on store targets/KPI’s and utilising the Branch Revenue Report to identify opportunities.
  • You build the customer profile to ensure Branch Merchandise understand the market place to allocate stock accordingly and communicate store specific opportunities.
  • You ensure there is good availability of stock and educate the teams in ensuring all sizes are out for our customers.
  • You demonstrate an ability to react quickly to changing situations and deliver at pace.
  • Acting as a Brand Ambassador at all times, you are a Role Model to other stores.

  • You personally strive to be the best, seeking out all development opportunities available.
  • You play an active part in succession planning, for the Store team and also support the area talent strategy.
  • You recruit outstanding individuals who will deliver results and are passionate about service.

  • You identify and address the training and development needs of the store team putting effective solutions in place, utilising L&D tools.

  • You demonstrate flexibility in leadership style and approach to fit the needs of individuals.

  • You build strong working relationships across the Area and Region.
  • You know when it’s appropriate to drive forward own views, provide challenge or when to let things go.
  • You demonstrate an ability to react quickly to changing situations and deliver at pace.


  • You review productivity and where necessary seek improvements.
  • You ensure that stock loss and markdown are constantly being driven down and managed appropriately.
  • You are fully competent at all admin duties and back of house operations including cash handling, administration and delivery paperwork, and payroll.
  • You adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • You deliver the best possible customer service experience, by constantly reviewing the scheduling, planning and zoning of the sales floor.
  • You ensure that their team have awareness and understanding of the importance of Store Self Assessment to ensure we are legally compliant.
  • You support the Store Manager in meeting all Health and Safety requirements providing a safe environment for customers and teams alike.
