Elephant Parade is the world’s largest open-air art exhibition of full size decorated elephant statues that seeks to attract public awareness and support for Asian elephant conservation. Created by prominent artists and celebrities, each elephant is a unique piece of public art. After the exhibition, most elephants are auctioned or sold to raise money for the charity The Asian Elephant Foundation.
The parade will launch at intu Uxbridge on Monday 2nd June – 29th June. A herd of 30 stunning elephants will be placed throughout the mall and piazza.
Customers can also visit the elephant parade shop launching in conjunction with the parade , where they can purchase and design their own elephants. The store will be open on the upper mall next to Office.
In addition to this, intu Uxbridge have worked with Vyners School, Yeading Junior School and Greenford high school to design 6 baby elephants. Children as young 7 submitted designs, which have then been physically painted on the elephant statue. These elephants will be available for viewing in the elephant parade store.
