intu Milton Keynes will host an ‘audience with’ Great British Bake Off winner, and new Milton Keynes resident, Nadiya Hussain on Saturday 27 August to launch its new events area at Oak Court.
Nadiya will take centre stage for a question and answers session, hosted by MKFM presenter Chris Gregg from 1pm, where the public will be invited to ask questions about her rise to stardom followed by a meet and greet.
The free event will officially launch intu Milton Keynes’s newly refurbished Oak Court, which is now open for local businesses, performers and artists to use and the public to enjoy. The area has been refurbished as part of plans to bring more leisure experiences to intu Milton Keynes, with a proposed redevelopment set to introduce exciting new restaurants, a boutique cinema and shops not available elsewhere in the city.
“We’re incredibly excited Nadiya will be launching our new Oak Court area at intu Milton Keynes by holding her first major engagement since moving to the city”, says Shelley Peppard, general manager at intu Milton Keynes. “She is a wonderful new ambassador for Milton Keynes and we really look forward to welcoming her to the centre on the 27th and beyond.
“This event is a great chance for people in Milton Keynes to find out more about the real Nadiya, and grab a quick selfie of course.” She adds.
Nadiya Hussain said: “Milton Keynes is now my home so I’m delighted to be working with intu Milton Keynes and its team who share my passion for being a part of the local community. intu Milton Keynes is at the very heart of a growing and prosperous city which I’m thrilled to have moved to and I can’t wait to meet more people from the area on Saturday.”
Members of the public are being invited to send in their questions to Nadiya on the intu Milton Keynes Facebook page, and the best questions will be asked by MKFM on Saturday 27 August. Visit www.facebook.com/intuMiltonKeynes or tweet the question using the hashtag #AskNadiya.
After her appearance at Oak Court, Nadiya will be signing copies of her debut children’s book, Nadiya's Bake Me a Story at Waterstones from 3pm.
