J.K. Rowling first had the idea for Harry Potter while delayed on a train travelling from Manchester to London King’s Cross in 1990. Her first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was published in 1997. In seven extraordinary books published over ten years, Harry’s story became a massive worldwide bestseller, breaking all records and winning the devotion of legions of fans.
On 1 February 2018, Waterstones are inviting those fans (whether you're young enough to be at Hogwarts or as old as Nicholas Flamel) to our fourth spellbinding Harry Potter Book Night as Waterstones MK celebrate the Fantastic Beasts of our magical world!
Be sorted by their Sorting Hat (if you don't know your house already), spot some magical creature displays, take a Divination Class, or study towards your O.W.L. (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) or N.E.W.T. ( Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests for 7th Year students) in Care Of Magical Creatures. See what you'd look like as a moving portrait on loan from Hogwarts, and take part in our ever popular House Quiz. Last year Ravenclaw snatched victory from Slytherin, but Gryffindor triumphed for the previous three years - will they return to top form or will Hufflepuff win the House Cup?
Please apparate, port-key or hop on your broomstick and fly here for 6pm to WaterstonesMK in intu Milton Keynes, dressed in your best costumes from the wonderful wizarding world of Harry Potter!
Entrance is free - but please sign up by selecting that you are 'Going' to this event so that we know how many Port Keys to set up and can clean our fireplace ready for the Floo network.
See in store for details.
