Latest information for your visit

Please read the following latest centre information before setting off.

Update on Friday 18 September:

Following the latest North East restrictions covering the areas of Gateshead, North Tyneside, Newcastle, Northumberland, South Tyneside, Sunderland and County Durham, please only visit the centre with people you live with (or are in a support bubble with). This applies to all public areas of the centre, including the malls, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities.

Restaurants and leisure venues will be adhering to the restricted hours and will close between 10pm-5am. Restaurants will be restricted to table service only.

The centre is still open as usual. Our teams have been briefed on the new guidance and will be reminding people to keep a safe distance and to wear a face covering. Please play your part in following these new guidelines to help keep everyone safe. Please see our FAQs.

Throughout the pandemic, we have been and will continue to do everything we can to make sure the centre is a safe place to visit and work. That includes following the guidance from Public Health England and the Government.

In addition to the existing safety measures we already have in place, from 24 July everyone that visits the centre, whether that’s to work or to shop, will need to wear a face covering. A face covering is something which safely covers the nose and mouth; visitors can buy reusable or single-use face coverings as well as also use a scarf, bandana, religious garment or hand-made cloth covering but these must securely fit round the side of the face.

Anyone not wearing one, could be refused entry to the centre or asked to leave. There are some exceptions, these being children under 11, people with disabilities or those with breathing difficulties. Members of the team will be on hand to support our visitors throughout their visit.

We know that the experience will feel different, however we hope these measures will help provide all our visitors with additional reassurance. To learn more about what we’re doing in centre to keep you safe during this time visit our dedicated safety and wellbeing page.
