Mental Health Awareness Week

This year Mental Health Awareness Week will highlight the acts of kindness, big or small, that people are doing at this time. More than ever, being kind and showing kindness is particularly important to our mental health and wellbeing. We made our commitment earlier this year to encourage conversation about mental health and to reduce stigma by inviting visitors to take a seat in our Chatty Chairs. A safe space where conversation is encouraged.

Due to the lockdown, we can’t invite you to take a seat at our Chatty Chair’s in our centre but we do want to hear what has been happening in our community.

Do you know a local person who has helped a neighbour, collected prescriptions, helped somebody in isolation feel connected by making telephone calls, delivered a daily newspaper, or perhaps stitched some PPE or has supported a charity in some way during the crisis? A simple gesture of kindness can be the difference between a good day and bad day.

To say thanks we want you to nominate someone who has been kind in some way by sharing their story with us over on our social channels for a chance for them to win a £25 intu gift card.

Terms‌ ‌and‌ ‌Conditions‌ ‌for‌ ‌The Power of Kindness ‌competition‌

These are the terms and conditions for the The Power of Kindness competition found at www.intu.co.uk/Lakeside

1.The‌ ‌promoter‌ ‌of‌ ‌this‌ ‌competition‌ ‌is‌‌ intu Shopping Centres plc (“we” or “us”), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 02893329. Registered office address 40 Broadway, London, United Kingdom, SW1H 0BT‌  ‌ ‌

2.To‌ ‌participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition‌ ‌you‌ ‌must‌ ‌submit‌ ‌your‌ ‌competition‌ ‌entry‌

(see‌ ‌section‌ ‌7‌ ‌below)‌ ‌between‌ ‌‌00:01AM 20 May 2020‌ ‌‌and‌ 11.59PM 26 May 2020 ‌‌(the‌ ‌“‌Competition‌ ‌Period‌”).‌ ‌Entries‌ ‌submitted‌ ‌outside‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌Competition‌ ‌Period‌ ‌

will‌ ‌not‌ ‌be‌ ‌valid.‌ ‌

3.If‌ ‌you‌ ‌wish‌ ‌to‌ ‌participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition‌ ‌you‌ ‌agree‌ ‌to‌ ‌these‌ ‌terms‌ ‌and‌ ‌

conditions‌ ‌(“‌Terms‌”).‌ ‌By‌ ‌entering‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition,‌ ‌all‌ ‌entrants‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌deemed‌ ‌

to‌ ‌have‌ ‌accepted‌ ‌these‌ ‌Terms,‌ ‌so‌ ‌please‌ ‌read‌ ‌these‌ ‌Terms‌ ‌carefully.‌ ‌

Entry‌

4.The‌ ‌competition‌ ‌is‌ ‌only‌ ‌open‌ ‌to‌ ‌legal‌ ‌residents‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌UK‌ ‌aged‌ ‌18‌

‌‌or‌ ‌over‌.‌ ‌‌The‌ ‌competition‌ ‌excludes‌ ‌employees‌ ‌and‌ ‌contractors,‌ ‌agents‌ ‌and‌ ‌service‌ ‌

providers‌ ‌of‌ ‌‌intu‌,‌ ‌‌any‌ ‌member‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌intu‌ ‌properties‌ ‌plc‌ ‌group,‌‌ ‌‌or‌ ‌

any‌ ‌retailers‌ associated with intu,‌ ‌as‌ ‌well‌ ‌as‌ ‌any‌ ‌family‌ ‌members‌ ‌of‌ ‌such‌ ‌

employees‌ ‌or‌ ‌contractors‌ ‌and‌ ‌anyone‌ ‌professionally‌ ‌associated‌ ‌with‌ ‌this‌ ‌

competition.‌ ‌

5.Entry‌ ‌into‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition‌ ‌is‌ ‌restricted‌ ‌to‌ ‌‌one‌‌ ‌entry‌ ‌(see‌ ‌section‌ ‌7‌ ‌

below)‌ ‌per‌ ‌individual‌ ‌person.‌ ‌No‌ ‌purchase‌ ‌or‌ ‌payment‌ ‌of‌ ‌any‌ ‌form‌ ‌is‌ ‌required‌ ‌

for‌ ‌entry‌ ‌into‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition.‌ ‌

6.All‌ ‌entry‌ ‌instructions‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition‌ ‌will‌ ‌form‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌these‌ ‌Terms.‌ ‌Entry‌ ‌

instructions‌ ‌can‌ ‌be‌ ‌found‌ ‌at‌ ‌‌www.intu.co.uk/terms.

7.To‌ ‌enter‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition:‌ Comment on the relevant Power of Kindness competition post found on your local intu shopping centre Facebook page with a description of why your nominated individual deserves to be recognised for their act of kindness during the COVID-19 period, before then tagging that individual (using @name) in your message.

‌Entries‌ ‌must‌ ‌be‌ ‌submitted‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌specified‌ ‌closing‌ ‌date‌ ‌(see‌ ‌section‌ ‌2‌ ‌above) and the winner for each location will be judged on the following criteria: Generosity of time/effort, thoughtfulness, and kindness.‌

Judging will take place on 27 May 2020 by a panel of 5 in each individual intu shopping centre that includes at least one independent panel member. The winner will be selected and their nominated individual will receive the prize.

‌Individuals‌ ‌who‌ ‌do‌ ‌not‌ ‌follow‌ ‌all‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌instructions‌ ‌in‌ ‌these‌ ‌Terms,‌ ‌provide‌ ‌the‌ ‌required‌ ‌information,‌ ‌successfully‌ ‌submit‌ ‌their‌ ‌entry,‌ ‌timely‌ ‌submit‌ ‌their‌ ‌entry,‌ ‌and/or‌ ‌abide‌ ‌by‌ ‌these‌ ‌Terms‌ ‌may‌ ‌be‌ ‌disqualified.‌ ‌Automated‌ ‌entries‌ ‌are‌ ‌prohibited,‌ ‌and‌ ‌any‌ ‌use‌ ‌of‌ ‌automated‌ ‌devices‌ ‌will‌ ‌cause‌ ‌disqualification.‌ ‌Any‌ ‌entrant‌ ‌that‌ ‌attempts‌ ‌to‌complete‌ ‌or‌ ‌submit‌ ‌fraudulent‌ ‌entries,‌ ‌and‌ ‌his/her‌ ‌entries,‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌disqualified.‌ ‌

Entrants‌ ‌may‌ ‌not‌ ‌enter‌ ‌with‌ ‌multiple‌ ‌email‌ ‌addresses‌ ‌nor‌ ‌may‌ ‌entrants‌ ‌use‌ ‌

any‌ ‌other‌ ‌device‌ ‌or‌ ‌artifice‌ ‌to‌ ‌enter‌ ‌multiple‌ ‌times‌ ‌or‌ ‌as‌ ‌multiple‌ ‌entrants.‌ ‌Any‌ ‌

entrant‌ ‌who‌ ‌attempts‌ ‌to‌ ‌enter‌ ‌with‌ ‌multiple‌ ‌email‌ ‌addresses,‌ ‌under‌ ‌multiple‌ ‌

identities,‌ ‌or‌ ‌uses‌ ‌any‌ ‌device‌ ‌or‌ ‌artifice‌ ‌to‌ ‌register‌ ‌multiple‌ ‌times‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌ ‌

disqualified‌ ‌and‌ ‌forfeits‌ ‌any‌ ‌and‌ ‌all‌ ‌prizes‌ ‌won.‌ ‌Multiple‌ ‌entrants‌ ‌are‌ ‌not‌ ‌

permitted‌ ‌to‌ ‌share‌ ‌the‌ ‌same‌ ‌email‌ ‌address.‌ ‌Should‌ ‌multiple‌ ‌users‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌same‌ ‌

responsible‌ ‌for‌ ‌assigning‌ ‌email‌ ‌addresses‌ ‌or‌ ‌the‌ ‌domain‌ ‌associated‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌

submitted‌ ‌email‌ ‌address.‌ ‌Potential‌ ‌winner(s)‌ ‌may‌ ‌be‌ ‌required‌ ‌to‌ ‌show‌ ‌proof‌ ‌of‌ ‌

being‌ ‌the‌ ‌authorised‌ ‌account‌ ‌holder.‌ ‌

8. There will be 13 winners, one per participating intu shopping centre, who will win a prize of 1 x £25 intu Gift Card for their chosen intu centre to be awarded to their nominated individual who displayed the act of kindness judged to be the most deserving.

9.We‌ ‌reserve‌ ‌the‌ ‌right‌ ‌to:‌ ‌(i)‌ ‌award‌ ‌an‌ ‌alternative‌ ‌prize‌ ‌of‌ ‌equal‌ ‌or‌ ‌greater‌ ‌

value;‌ ‌(ii)‌ ‌subject‌ ‌to‌ ‌section‌ ‌20‌ ‌below,‌ ‌in‌ ‌unavoidable‌ ‌circumstances‌ ‌vary‌ ‌the‌ ‌

closing‌ ‌date‌ ‌for‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition;‌ ‌(iii)‌ ‌cancel‌ ‌or‌ ‌refuse‌ ‌any‌ ‌individual’s‌ ‌entry‌ ‌to‌ ‌

10.The‌ ‌winners will be contacted by intu via Facebook within 5 working days of the closing date. The winner must reply to confirm they can receive the prize within 5 working days from the date of contact.

advertising‌ ‌(such‌ ‌as‌ ‌floor‌ ‌graphics‌ ‌and‌ ‌banners),‌ ‌leaflets‌ ‌and‌ ‌flyers‌ ‌and‌ ‌on‌ ‌

our‌ ‌website.‌ ‌

12.You‌ ‌will‌ ‌not‌ ‌be‌ ‌entitled‌ ‌to‌ ‌receive‌ ‌payment‌ ‌for‌ ‌any‌ ‌such‌ ‌use‌ ‌by‌ ‌us‌ ‌of‌ ‌your‌ ‌

image‌ ‌or‌ ‌footage‌ ‌in‌ ‌which‌ ‌you‌ ‌appear.‌ ‌

13.The‌ ‌decision‌ ‌of‌ ‌‌intu‌ ‌‌and/or‌ ‌any‌ ‌independent‌ ‌judge‌ ‌(as‌ ‌applicable)‌ ‌is‌ ‌final‌ ‌and‌ ‌binding‌ ‌in‌ ‌all‌ ‌matters‌ ‌relating‌ ‌to‌ ‌this‌ ‌competition,‌ ‌and‌ ‌no‌ ‌

Each‌ ‌winner‌ will be sent a unique intu Gift Card online code that can be redeemed at their local intu shopping centre when they are able to. ‌There‌ ‌is‌ ‌no‌ ‌cash‌ ‌alternative‌ ‌in‌ ‌whole‌ ‌or‌ ‌in‌ ‌part‌ ‌for‌ ‌prizes,‌ ‌subject‌ ‌to‌ ‌section‌ ‌9‌ ‌above.‌ ‌Prizes‌ ‌are‌ ‌non-negotiable,‌ ‌

non-refundable‌ ‌and‌ ‌non-transferable.‌ ‌Prizes‌ ‌cannot‌ ‌also‌ ‌be‌ ‌used‌ ‌in‌ ‌

that‌ ‌provision.‌ ‌We‌ ‌reserve‌ ‌the‌ ‌right,‌ ‌at‌ ‌our‌ ‌sole‌ ‌discretion,‌ ‌to‌ ‌cancel,‌ ‌

terminate,‌ ‌modify‌ ‌or‌ ‌suspend‌ ‌the‌ ‌competition‌ ‌if‌ ‌it‌ ‌is‌ ‌not‌ ‌capable‌ ‌of‌ ‌running‌ ‌as‌ ‌

planned,‌ ‌including,‌ ‌but‌ ‌not‌ ‌limited‌ ‌to,‌ ‌infection‌ ‌by‌ ‌computer‌ ‌virus,‌ ‌tampering,‌ ‌

unauthorised‌ ‌intervention,‌ ‌fraud,‌ ‌technical‌ ‌failures‌ ‌or‌ ‌any‌ ‌other‌ ‌problems‌ ‌

beyond‌ ‌our‌ ‌control‌ ‌and‌ ‌award‌ ‌the‌ ‌prize‌ ‌from‌ ‌among‌ ‌all‌ ‌eligible‌ ‌online‌ ‌entries‌ ‌

received‌ ‌prior‌ ‌to‌ ‌cancellation.‌ ‌Other‌ ‌than‌ ‌for‌ ‌fraudulent‌ ‌misrepresentation‌ ‌or‌ ‌

death‌ ‌or‌ ‌personal‌ ‌injury‌ ‌arising‌ ‌from‌ ‌our‌ ‌negligence,‌ ‌we‌ ‌exclude,‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌full‌ ‌
