Houseplants have been a big trend for a while now, but this year’s take on the trend is adding a single leaf in a vase - apparently the look has had  a 136% increase in saves over the past year. It’s the perfect low-key way to add a hint of greenery to your home; we love the look of a single Monstera leaf (that’s a cheese plant FYI) for a splash of tropicana.

Purple is having a moment this year; Ultraviolet was named Pantone’s colour of the year and searches for lavender homeware are up 300%. Pastels are perfect for spring, and we love the look of a lavender painted wall or a sofa, but if you want a commitment-free trial of the trend, try adding accessories, cushions or perfectly pastel bed throw.
