Turns out it has been 30 years since Nike launched their iconic Air Max trainers – AKA those stylish kicks with air bubbles in the soles. And to mark their sneaker-versary, Nike has taken it one step further with the seven-years-in-the-making launch of the VaporMax.
Dubbed ‘Nike’s most advanced sneaker yet’ by online sneaker bible, Highsnobiety, they feature the iconic bubble sole across the whole foot, which is grafted directly onto the woven uppers (read: no layers of foam in between), creating a shoe that literally feels like you're walking on air.
The VaporMax had a waiting list longer than your local takeaway on a Saturday night and sold out in a matter of days – proof that they’re set to be the go-to kicks of 2017. But don’t panic: you can snap up their new Asphalt colourway (a cool, silver-grey) at Nike.com from 8am BST on 27th April. Better add to basket quick, though!
