“Hi, I’m Lauren - also known as ‘@itslittlelauren’ across social media. Having shopped at intu Derby almost monthly since I was a teenager I was absolutely over the moon when they asked me to take part in their ‘Welcome to our World’ campaign.
I’m a huge beauty, fashion and food enthusiast, meaning that intu Derby is the perfect shopping centre for somebody like myself as it has a huge variety of shops and restaurants to choose from. I’m really looking forward to sharing what I got up to whilst there, so be sure to keep an eye out on my Instagram and blog over the coming weeks - spoiler...I had the most enjoyable day, and as usual I picked up lots.”
“My first stop whenever I visit intu Derby always has to be Boots - see, I told you I was a huge beauty enthusiast. It’s one of the biggest Boots I’ve ever shopped in, it honestly has every makeup stand you can think of ranging from budget to slightly more luxurious, so there really is something for everyone. The girls on the makeup counters are always so helpful and friendly, and are always on hand to give any advice, and answer all of your queries from skincare dilemmas, to beauty offers.
Whilst browsing I managed to stock up on all of my favourite Benefit products; mascara, concealer, brow pencils and hoola (the loveliest bronzer around), lots of hair care and sun cream in time for my holiday - a pretty successful shop if I do say so myself. The amount of stock and different products they have honestly makes this Boots one of the best, I always manage to pick up everything I need within 15 minutes... okay, maybe half an hour.”
“I forgot to mention that I’m also a massive shoe addict in my introduction - a girl can never have too many shoes, right? So, when I spotted this pair of wrap up wedges out of the corner of my eye in Topshop, I just had to have them (even the woman at the counter in Topshop agreed). They’ll match perfectly with all of my summer outfits, so I can’t wait to show you how I’m going to style them.
Again, intu Derby’s Topshop is on the large side, it even has a Miss Selfridge section at the back which I find so handy. I particularly like the way the staff style the mannequins and set the clothes rails out in this Topshop, everything is really easy to find and leaves you with lots of outfit inspiration - sorry bank balance.”
“Of course, every shopping trip requires a lunch stop, so I took time out for a break at Zizzi. Zizzi is definitely in my top three restaurants, the pasta dishes are like no other, and the garlic bread with mozzarella and balsamic onions is to die for. I also love their range of cocktails (and delicious mocktails too if you’re driving). intu Derby does have a massive selection of every type of food imaginable from Chinese to Italian so it was pretty hard to choose.
We received the fastest, most friendly service from our waitress Zoe - she was amazing and really chatty, making our meal out even more enjoyable. Their special seasons section on the menu is also lovely, and I’d recommend trying out their desserts too. I’ll definitely be returning as it sure did please the entire family, it was huge hit.”
“Every girly shopping day must also include a little bit of fun too, so Hollywood Bowl is the perfect way to end a successful, leisurely day. I love the decor and their cute diner themed restaurant with old vintage cars for tables. I always have to grab a slush like the big kid I am whilst playing, don’t worry if you aren’t as childish as myself though, the bar does have a good selection of drinks to keep the entire family happy.
Unfortunately, I didn’t win as I’m absolutely useless at bowling, but it was still a good laugh all the same.”
