You may already be familiar with the faces behind Hey Dolly - Kelsey Hardwick is an actress, while Tom Parker received musical success in boy band The Wanted. We grabbed 5 minutes with the pair to find out about their womenswear label…

You both have backgrounds in show business – when did you first think about launching a womenswear collection?

Fashion is something we've always been interested in from a very early age. With trends being set from the catwalks, we're always keeping an eye on what's hot for each season and hope to bring that to the Hey Dolly collection.

What inspired the AW14 range – is there a theme?

We feel the vintage look continues to be popular, and now with the likes of Downton Abbey having such huge success, these trends and retro details are bigger than ever. We've tried to incorporate a vintage feel in to the AW14 range with a modern touch.

How would you describe the typical Hey Dolly girl?

We try to aim our collection at a wide demographic. It's very easy to follow other boutiques that are all ‘glitz and glam’, however we aim for a cute look that can be worn for all occasions.

We’re extremely excited for the new season. Are there any trends you’ve fallen for this autumn?

We think winter pastels and oversized knits are key this AW14. We're looking to grow our collection by tapping into these areas.

“The Cindy Jacket is probably the standout item from the new collection teamed with the Candice Gold Collar Blouse.”

Do you have a favourite piece from the Hey Dolly range and how would you wear it?

We like to get involved on social media and we try to use this as a tool to show our audience a variety of pieces that can be styled together – we post a different look every day on our instagram. The Cindy Jacket is probably the standout item from the new collection... teamed with the Candice Gold Collar Blouse, perfect for the office or a casual outing to the shops.

You’re a new brand – do you have any advice for those looking to launch a label or open a store?

It’s important to take inspiration from the catwalks and develop them into your own ideas. It's very easy to copy trends, but to stand out from the rest you have to be creative. Opening Hey Dolly was the best thing that's ever happened.

What’s next for Hey Dolly, are you beginning to think about SS15?

We're always looking at ideas a year in advance, so we're already coming up with themes, patterns and cut outs that will be developed over the next few months, ready for SS15.
