The genius packing hacks Gigi, Kim K & Chrissy Teigen swear by

Before you get to the beach-and-cocktails part of a holiday, there’s the inevitable struggle every girl goes through pre-airport prosecco and chill; yes packing, we’re looking at you.

Never fear though, as your fave celebrity seasoned travellers have got your back; read on as we reveal the 9 packing hacks these jet-setters swear by…

Adriana Lima - Get GPS tracked luggage

Ever stood at baggage reclaim sweating slightly at the possibility of your bag not turning up? We’ve all been there - but Adriana has a hack for that; she swears by a suitcase with integrated GPS! It works by connecting with an app you download on your phone, so you can keep track of your luggage in real-time. Adrina says “It really makes a difference because I want to connect with my children no matter where I am. And it’s a way to track your kids, even if they’re traveling. It’s awesome". It certainly sounds it, Ms Lima.

Chrissy Teigen - Make a holiday Lookbook

In a Twitter video, Chrissy revealed she plans every outfit she’s going to take on holiday with her, even creating a Lookbook to illustrate this. She swears it saves you valuable time and luggage space when deciding what to pack. Makes sense to us, after all, you want to be spending your time enjoying your holidays - not rummaging through a suitcase deciding what to wear!

Gigi Hadid - Avoid checking-in your bags

Erm, what? Gigi Hadid travels light? According to the global supermodel, she only takes the must-haves away with her on trips in order to cut her airport time as short as possible. "I try to only travel with carry-on at all times," she said."I pretty much spend half my life at the airport, so checking in bags is just going to add more onto that."

Julia Stiles - Bubble wrap your toiletries

Remember Ross’ ‘shampoo explosion’ in season 9 of F.R.I.E.N.D.S? That didn’t look fun. Avoid a similar ‘it’s all over everything’ moment by wrapping your toiletries in bubble wrap, àla Julia Stiles. "There are these little, square toiletry bags that that have bubble wrap on the outside, but by airport security, they’re considered a plastic baggie that you can put your toiletries in when you have to declare them—but because there’s bubble wrap, they also protect your stuff”. She’s not just a pretty face, then.

Kim Kardashian - Bag everything

Our suitcases may not contain quite as much couture as Kim K’s, but that doesn’t mean we can’t protect our fave outfits. Kim says she bags each individual item to avoid stains getting on her clothes, and we think it’s genius. “I put everything in bags! Shoes go in shoe bags to protect the rest of my clothes,” she blogged on her app. “I also use Ziploc bags for toiletries, so products don’t ruin my clothes if something breaks. I keep all of my makeup in little pouches, too.”

Lily Aldridge - Pack items which double up

The stunning Victoria’s Secret model has a nifty packing hack that we can’t wait to copy; she likes to pack dual-use items to save both time and space when going away somewhere exotic. “Really comfortable scarves, because I like to get cozy on the plane since they can get so cold," she told Travel + Leisure. "And then when you land, if you’re in an exotic or tropical place, you can use them as sarongs. I like to travel as compact as possible and really think about what I’m packing, because I like to carry-on most of the time, so scarves are great to use as a two-for-one.

Lindsay Ellingson - Get yourself a bum-bag

There’s nothing worse than going on holiday and getting your money - or worse - stolen. Keep the pesky pickpockets at bay by investing in a bumbag; according to Lindsay, they can be stylish, too. "I love Wendy Nichol—she makes handmade bags down in SoHo. They’re almost like fanny packs, so you don’t have to worry about your money getting stolen or anything."

Rebecca Minkoff - Don’t fold, roll!

We imagine this big-time fashion designer knows clothes and fabrics like the back of her hand; and this tip confirms our suspicions! Rebecca advises rolling-up rather than folding your clothes, not only to save valuable space in your case but also to avoid creases - because who has time to iron on holiday? “Only pack the essentials! Roll, do not fold, your clothes. Not only does this free up tons of space in your bag, but it minimises wrinkling".

Vanessa Williams - Neutral clothes are the way to go

When in doubt, go for white clothes, according to the Ugly Betty star. If you don’t have time to plan a ton of outfits, or do a lookbook Chrissy Teigen style, then just go for a capsule wardrobe of neutrals. "Pack a lot of white-sweaters, Ts, linen pants. They'll work with anything!" she told InStyle.
