Hands up if you’re guilty of leaving gift-wrapping until the last minute (Christmas Eve, anyone)? We know, it’s such a bore. But what if we told you that it’s possible not have to wrap a single gift this year? Yep, thanks to some amazing gift wrapping services available from your favourite retailers – many of which are totally FREE. You can get perfect precision wrapping (impossible at home), plus many stores also offer extra personalised touches to up the luxe-factor. Why wrap gifts when you can sip mulled wine instead? Here are some of the best gift-wrapping services…
It’s no surprise that Apple are pretty generous when it comes to wrapping and personalisation, but we didn’t expect FREE laser engraving on any iPad or iPod! Even the little Shuffle. Selected items can also be gift-wrapped in understated-cool, Apple-style wrapping, complete with a personalised card.
Origins offers free gift wrap with every online order: all you need to do is select the gift box option at the delivery page online, and you can even slip in a card with a message. Multiple items in an order will be packaged as one big gift, so make sure to order separately for separate giftees.
Bobbi Brown doesn’t normally offer gift wrapping, but for Christmas, they put on a free service that includes a special notecard with your message. If you’re ordering more than one item to be gift-wrapped, these will be included in a lovely gift package.
We all know that personalisation is Thornton’s thang so when it comes to gifting chocs, it’s high on our list. When ordering online there are24 products you can choose from to be personalised for FREE, and the range only looks set to grow (alphabet truffles, anyone?). All items come as they are, extra gift wrapping isn’t available, but some do come with sweet free delivery.
Aveda’s bright green and red gift wrap is extra special because it’s handmade in Nepal, employing hundreds of jobs for Christmas. It’s usually £3, but Aveda are currently offering it for free. The service is available both in-store and online, but if you’re buying at the counter, you’ll get a choice of wrapping. You can add a personalised message for free too.
Online,L’Occitane are offering free gift wrapping and personal messaging with every order. Gifts are placed in a L’Occitane gift box or bag depending on the size, and finished with a personal message. Just click ‘My order is a gift’ at the checkout. You’ll also get the option for additional gift bags to be added, although be aware this doesn’t apply to Christmas gift sets. For extra experience, head to a L’Occitane store where you’ll be treated to the full ‘French wrapping’ experience. C’est magnifique!
Personalising your orders fromHotel Chocolat with a gift message is free, however, for a little extra you can also get them wrapped in either a stylish black gift bag (£2.50) or a beautiful hamper (£5). There’s a Gifting Options stage at the checkout where you can choose which you prefer (if available), but be sure to allow a little extra time for gift-wrapped orders to guarantee Christmas delivery.
Make sure you order directly from Estée Lauder this year to have your gift beautifully wrapped for you, including a personal message for only £3. Just select the ‘Gift Wrap’ option at the checkout.
Glam up your gift fromFeel Unique for as little as £2.90 with the gift wrap option, which lets you choose the finishing touch from a selection of pink, blue, red, white or gold ribbon, and write a personal message. The rest of the present is wrapped in thick, black paper or presented in a chic black box. Unlike other services, you can choose whether you would like to have your items individually wrapped or combined together in one big gift box. It’s available right up until 21st December 2017.
You can also get selected perfume bottles engraved with up to 10 letters for just £4.95, and monogrammed with up to three letters’ worth of Swarovski Crystals for £4.95 too. This Christmas, they’re even offering star crystallisation services on a selection of Urban Decay palettes. All of these services are available right up until the 21st of December 2017; great for last-minute gifts.
For £1.99 per item, the service at Fragrance Direct is not only pretty reasonable, but you also get to pick your gift-wrapping paper from agreat selection of festive and classic wrapping.
When shopping in-store atGAP this year, you can tick another present off the wrapping list by adding a festive, stripe gift bag or sleeve to your purchase. Staff will fold your present(s) and place them in the gift packaging for you, and if you’re really stuck, you can get matching gift cards. Gift wrap is only available in-stores.
At The Perfume Shop, you can add a personal touch to fragrances by having initials or a message engraved on the bottle. It’s available onselected lines (the choice is HUGE and bigger than ever this Christmas), and depending on the space available, you can have a message of up to 66 characters.Engraving is online only and starts at £5.99, but gift wrapping is free in-store and online if you select Click and Collect or Shutl as the delivery method.
If you don’t have time to pop into anErnest Jones store before Crimbo, you can still get a gift engraved and have it wrapped for you. You’ll have to hurry though, as engraved gifts will need an extra 3-8 working days on top of delivery time. Engraving is really simple, you can check the max character limit per item on the product description to make sure your message will fit. As a price guide, rings are £21 and for all other engraveable items it’s £16. Add just £3 more and you can have it gift-wrapped as well. Gift wrap is only charged once, no matter how many gift items you order.
Theskincare specialists have launched a ‘Perfectly Personal’ service this year, inspired by how good it feels to get a present just right. This bespoke service is available in-store, where the Liz Earle team will work with you to find the right items for your beloved, creating a gift package with a beautiful box and ribbon. It’s available when you spend £40 or more, and as a treat for being such a good gifter, they’ll give you a little surprise too!
For £6, you’re getting an extra special gift wrapping service fromKate Spade. Most items are wrapped in trademark Kate Spade tissue paper, sealed with a sticker and packed in a multi-coloured gift box tied with a ribbon. If your gift is hanging, then it will also include a garment bag. Some pre-boxed items aren’t eligible for gift wrapping (they don’t really need it) so enjoy getting a personalised gift card message and a gorgeously ‘wrapped’ present for free.
All gifts from Links of London are beautifully packaged in branded boxes and tied with Links of London ribbon – for free. If you’re looking for a little extra wow, there’s an engraving option too. Jo Malone always pulls out the stops when it comes to Christmas wrapping, and this year’s Crazy Colourful Christmas theme might be its best yet. Not only does each online order come with a free sample, but when you buy two or more products you’ll get their gorgeous, clashing striped packaging (and every item you order will come with its own Christmas ribbon). Jo Malone are also promising gold tassels to hang from its gift boxes, and the whole shebang’s available from 23rd of October 2017.
For the personal touch, there’s also anengraving service to customise Jo Malone scents and products for your loved one with a message, date or initials. Just for this Christmas, engraving will be available every week from Thursday-Saturday in Jo Malone’s Regent Street Boutique. The brand will also be hosting Engraving Events in select Boutiques where you can have three characters per product added, completely free, in the run-up to Christmas. Online, you’ll have to order soon, as engraving takes longer – expect 7-10 days for delivery. Engraving online costs £15 per item.
John Greed’s engraving options are just as luxe as its jewellery, and it’s officially authorised by many of the premium brands it stocks (it even has its own laser to do it with – fancy). It’s good for last-minute presents, as many engravings take only a couple of days and you can bump your order to the top of the queue by selecting ‘next working day’ at checkout.
