Christmas is inching ever closer and it’s an exciting time for everyone – especially if you’re smaller than one of Santa’s elves. As tempting as it may be to stay indoors and escape the cold, there are so many Christmassy things to do and see that will not only kick start that festive feeling, but will keep the kids entertained and avoid the dreaded cabin fever before the new school term starts.

So, to help you enjoy all the anticipation and excitement of the most wonderful time of the year, we’ve gathered 11 magical and fun-filled things to do over the Christmas break that the whole family will enjoy. Go skiing and snowboarding

Hit the slopes with the whole family this winter at the longest indoor snow slope in the UK. Whether you’re a beginner learning how to ski or a pro at snowboarding, there’s an ice wall to be conquered plus an ice bar for mum and dad to chill in while the kids have fun.

Visit Santa’s grotto

Perfect for little kids (and big kids at heart) , plan a trip to meet Saint Nick and share the Christmas wish list that has had them on their best behaviour all year long. Because Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without a trip to see jolly old Santa Claus, right?

Watch a Christmas movie

intu Metrocentre has brought the outdoors in this year with their magical Arctic Experience. Watch the snow fall indoors and visit Santa at his new grotto or dip into a ball pool and snap an adorable family photo for the mantelpiece.

Join the Once Upon A Time Christmas Parade

Ready for a magical and festive day out for the whole family to enjoy? Good, because intu Trafford Centre’s Once Upon A Time Christmas Parade will have you singing and dancing all day long. Meet character favourites like Peppa Pig, PJ Masks, Paw Patrol, The Clangers and more, as well as Santa himself. Oh, and the Grinch will be there on his best behaviour (fingers crossed).
