Easy Halloween costumes to make with clothes you probably already own

While there may still be a few weekends to go before October 31, it’s never too late to start planning your Halloween getup. The downside of investing in a Halloween costume every year is it’s normally only good for one use, two at a push if you frequent costume parties, but more often than not it will end up stuffed in the back of the wardrobe and forgotten.

So for those who aren’t looking to shell out an absurd amount of money on a costume you’ll only wear once, here are five ideas you can create with pieces you probably already own. Whether you decide to go as Eleven from Stranger Things or as Beyonce at Coachella, the best part about each look is every piece can be worn over and over again post-Halloween. Score!

Eleven from Stranger Things

You’ll probably already own one or more items to recreate the look of lovable (and adorable) Eleven from the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. Throw on a pink dress and pair it with a blue track or denim jacket, pull up some tube socks and slip on a pair of white trainers. Add a box of waffles to finish off the look – (you can eat them later).

Scream Queens

Perfect for Halloween and for the entire girl squad, dressing up as the cast of the American horror-comedy series Scream Queens is the shopping excuse you’ve been looking for. It’s super easy to pull off and there’s a lot of the colour pink and pretty accessories to match. Simply add fake blood for a spookier effect.
