Showcase Cinema de Lux are hiring a concessions stand supervisor

Job description

To deliver the highest standard of customer service at all times. You will support the Cinema team on continuously driving sales, while supporting the cinema team in the smooth running of the cinema in line with company policies and procedures. Fully cross trained you will perform a variety of duties within the cinema operation.  You will assist the management in the training of new employees and carry out regular re-training and testing of personnel on procedures/operations.

Customer service

  • Provide an excellent standard of customer service to Cinema visitors by being helpful, pleasant and ensuring queues are managed effectively
  • Respond appropriately to any customer queries and if unable to do so, to ensure a member of the management team is alerted in order to assist
  • Provide information on performance start and finish times, films synopsis and film classification
  • Ensure all lost property is correctly dealt with in accordance with company procedures

Legal awareness

  • Be aware of policy and legislation relating to alcohol licensing regulations where appropriate
  • Be aware of cinema requirements under Food Hygiene Regulations

Driving sales

  • Work efficiently ensuring compliance with service standards and the application of selling techniques
  • Be aware of all current promotions and actively promote sales
  • Monitoring of team members during daily operations on the concessions department, with a specific aim of ensuring that they comply with company serving standards and selling techniques
  • Sell retail products correctly and follow correct cash handling procedures

Health & Safety

  • Follow the Food Hygiene Regulations and Health & Safety Policies.Work efficiently using all pieces of equipment correctly and with care only after having been trained
  • Inform management immediately of any breaches or issues within Health & Safety
  • Help monitor maintenance or repairs, advising management of any issues immediately
  • Undertake cinema cleaning activities including cinema, toilets, back of house areas, auditoria’s, cinema seating, all front of house areas and emptying and removing of rubbish as required
  • Keep informed about business changes by attending staff meetings, reading staff notice boards and asking questions where appropriate
  • Attend scheduled Fire Training and Concessions Meetings
  • Adhere to all current policies and procedures
  • Assist management with the monitoring of stock levels and rotation
  • Assist management in ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is attained in concessions areas


  • Ensure all wastage is correctly recorded by following the wastage procedures
  • Carry out any other duties within your skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
  • You may also be expected to carry out the duties expected of a Team Member as and when the Company determines
  • You may deal with confidential or company sensitive information during the carrying out of your duties. Ensure you comply with all company policies regarding the use of such information

Experience required

Previous Supervisory experience in a food service environment is desired
