Here at intu Derby we understand the needs of our disabled customers, we constantly strive to make your shopping experience with us a happy, effortless and enjoyable one.
We have multiple disabled toilets to make your experience at the centre hassle-free. You can find these on:
We have a changing places toilet located on level 1 between Debenhams and Marks & Spencer. It has a free standing, adult-sized, height-adjustable changing bench, a ceiling system hoist, a peninsular toilet and a height-adjustable washbasin. The changing places toilet is over 12m2 with a non-slip floor and also contains a privacy screen, a large bin and tear-off paper roll. There is an emergency alarm for safety. Access to the changing places toilet is gained via Radar key or a key from our Customer Service desk. The changing places toilet can be accessed during our normal trading hours.

We also have 161 spaces reserved especially for disabled shoppers spread over our 4 car parks. Most are sites within easy reach of the main entrances. Centre Security personnel patrol the car parks and will deal with any parking abuse of the spaces set aside for customers with disabilities.
At intu Derby we offer a wheelchair hire service from the Customer Service Desk, located outside Debenhams on Level 1.
It is a completely free service, however we do ask to hold on to a form of photographic ID whilst the wheelchair is out. This can be a valid driver’s licence, passport or Gold Card/bus pass.
The Customer Service Desk is open at the following times:
Monday to Wednesday 9am – 6pm
Thursday and Friday 9am – 8pm
Saturday 9am – 7pm
Sunday 10.30am – 4.30pm
You are welcome to hire the wheelchair for an unlimited length of time on any day, as long as it is returned to Customer Services at least 30 minutes before we close.
We do not offer a reservation service on the wheelchairs due to us having a limited number available, therefore we would advise that you contact the Customer Service Team on 01332 366 383 approximately 30 minutes before you are expected to arrive at the centre to check that we have some available.
intu Derby has a dedicated Shopmobility Centre. You can access shopmobility via the Morledge entrance in our Basement Car Park. Wheelchairs and other mobility options are available and staff are always on hand to offer specialist advice on your needs. You can take your pick from a range of standard and powered wheelchairs, as well as powered scooters.

You will need to complete a registration form when you use the service and pay a one-off membership fee of £10. If you are visiting Derby and unlikely to use the Shopmobility Service again, the membership fee is only £2.00.*
*Please note that two forms of identification are required when registering for membership and when hiring equipment for a one off visit. Customers will also be asked to complete a disclaimer form when hiring equipment. Please note that at least one form of identification must have the applicant's photo and current address. Please contact a member of the team on 01332 200320 for details of which forms of identification are accepted.
**Please note, these times don't include holiday opening hours. Please speak to one of our lovely staff members about availability during Bank Holidays. Double slots can be booked if you need more time, subject to availability. A pre-booked hire can only be held for 1 hour after the original start time so please don't be late.
