On Wednesday 31 May 2017, intu Chapelfield joined Break Charity at an exclusive sponsors event at the Norwich University of the Arts to network with those involved with the upcoming GoGoHares2018 trail. After the massive success of GoGoGorillas and GoGoDragons, the hares will be unleashed onto the streets of Norwich during summer 2018. In total, 50 hares have been sponsored by different organisations around Norfolk and intu Chapelfield are extremely pleased to be one of them and play an integral part in the trail once again.
During the event, intu Chapelfield and the team at Break had the privilege of introducing everyone to the first completed GoGoHare and 'he' is a certainly a golden sight for the eyes.
Introducing Osc-Hare, our gold painted hare! He has a sprayed and lacquered finish to look like an Oscar and is perfect for any red carpet occasion.
Sheridan Smith, of intuChapelfield said ‘‘Everyone at intuChapelfield is so excited to be working with the team at Break again, we can’t wait for GoGoHares! We’ve had a sneak preview of our hare, Osc-Hare, and he is absolutely stunning. It is a privilege to be able to support such an amazing local charity.'
There are just a handful of moongazing hares left to sponsor that will be located around Norfolk giving a new dimension to the trail options.
GoGoCreate the learning programme for schools, clubs and organisations has already launched and getting a good response. Artists have until 28th August to send in their designs for the 2018 trail, which will be decided at the next event in September. More details on elements can be downloaded from the website gogohares.co.uk.
Michael Rooney, commercial manager for Break said ‘Break are heading for such an exciting time over the next 18 months as we celebrate 50 years of working with local vulnerable children, young people and families in 2018. This coincides with the GoGoHares sculpture trail bringing fun and creativity to the city and county as well as highlighting some of the fantastic work that Break does. Hopefully the people of Norwich and Norfolk will be proud that Break will continue to develop its vital services whilst at the same time delivering a high standard and inclusive event for all to enjoy.’
The main GoGoHares city and moongazer trail will run from 24 June to 8 September 2018 and the GoGoCreate trail will take place from 2 July until 2 September 2018.
The 50 city hares each representing a year in the life of Break charity, will be auctioned on 11th October where they will be going to their forever homes, and raising valuable funds for the charity which supports children and young people around East Anglia.
