Charlie Simpson visits HMV at intu Chapelfield, Norwich to perform short acoustic sets and sign copies of his eighth album ‘Long Road Home’. Due to space limitations at stores, access is strictly limited on a first come first served basis.
Charlie is a multi-instrumentalist still in his twenties with seven albums under his belt. Born into a musical family, he began his career as 1/3 of multi-BRIT award winning pop rock outfit Busted before forming alternative rock group Fightstar. ‘Long Road Home’ is the follow up to his hugely popular debut solo release ‘Young Pilgrim’, which went straight into the top ten.
Produced by Steve Osborne (U2, KT Tunstall, New Order), ‘Long Road Home’ is an intimate and passionate selection of intricate acoustic tracks complimented by Charlie’s instantly recognisable smoky vocals. The album was recorded live in the studio, influenced by Grammy winning contemporary folk musician Ray Lamontagne’s work. Charlie says of ‘Long Road Home’ “my life experience has taken me to this point, where I’ve written an album I’m very proud of and happy with.” The album’s eagerly anticipated release follows a string of sell-out tour dates.
