Calling all aspiring fashion writers, bloggers and commentators! To celebrate Norwich Fashion Week (5th – 12th March) we're running a competition to find Norfolk’s next great fashion writer. You could win a trip to New York City to meet, and learn from, one of the Big Apple’s leading fashion journalist, Gregory DelliCarpini.
The competition is open to all amateur writers who'd love a career in fashion, so if you're an enthusiastic blogger, a student journalist or a spare-time scribbler get your brain cells sparking about fashion and your fingers dancing across your keyboard.
To enter, you need to write two 500 word articles or blog posts. The first article must be entitled ‘Let your true colours shine’ – the phrase which has inspired the intu Chapelfield spring/summer fashion campaign and fashion shows taking place during Norwich Fashion Week on 7th and 8th May. The second piece should focus on any other element of Norwich Fashion Week
The competition will be judged by Sheridan Smith, marketing manager of intu Chapelfield, Emma Harrowing, editor of Norwich Resident and fashion editor of the Eastern Daily Press and Pippa Lain-Smith, managing director of Plain Speaking PR Agency.
This is a fantastic opportunity for people who have a real passion for style and the ambition to make fashion writing their career. As well as jetting off to New York for four days, the winner will have the opportunity to spend time with the intu Chapelfield marketing team on a fashion shoot and with the editor of Norwich Resident on a fashion assignment; so the winner will really experience fashion from all angles. But perhaps the most exciting part of the prize is the opportunity to have three articles published in three of Norfolk’s most influential and widest-reaching publications: the Eastern Daily Press, Norwich Resident and our own intu Chapelfield magazine.
The judges will be looking for articles that are engaging, inspiring and full of personality. If you're thinking about entering the competition, just remember that your writing should encourage people from around the UK to come and shop in Norwich.
The closing date for the competition is Friday 27 March, 2015.
