As a Maintenance Operative within the Technical Services Team you will be responsible for basic maintenance and repair of the Albion House office facility, using a wide variety of general maintenance duties including, but not limited to general repairs, painting and manual handling. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager you will carry out tasks as instructed whilst also acting as the face of intu within this multi occupancy building and you will be expected to present a professional, friendly image at all times.

Aside from day to day tasks you will also focus on routine H&S inspections, tenant liaison, managing contractors on site as well as assisting visitors attending the property and ensuring the quiet enjoyment of the property is maintained for the tenants. You will be fully familiar with the companies Fire Safety Policy, Health & Safety & Security requirements.

This role will include a variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:

  • Completion of daily walkarounds of the Building
  • Undertake reactive repairs and PPM maintenance
  • Undertake manual handling duties as required
  • Compliance with all work-related Health and Safety regulations at all times
  • Undertake health and safety related tests/inspections including Fire Alarm Test Records, Emergency Lighting Test Record,  Monthly Water Temperature Checks.
  • Basic electrical tasks such as changing light bulbs, cleaning light fittings etc
  • General minor building works, such as mastic applications and tiling repairs
  • Minor plumbing repairs; such as any internal/external issues such as blocked drains, toilets, minor spillages and waste pipe leaks.

In order to be successful in this position it is anticipated that candidate's will demonstrate excellent customer care skills, have good communication skills both verbally and written. We require someone who is confident with a friendly disposition as well as being a team player. Candidates must have 1 to 3 years' experience in general maintenance skills including carpentry and painting whilst working in a building services maintenance environment. The successful candidates will also be expected to demonstrate substantial knowledge of working across a wide range of building services equipment. The role will require the ability to work under pressure and adapt to day to day challenges and unforeseen circumstances

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am to 11.30am (part time 17.5 hours per week)
