Learn How to Make Sushi with YO! Sushi
Published on 03/05/2018

Ever wondered what goes into making a tasty Sushi roll? Do you want to know how to make your own at home? Now is your chance with Yo! Sushi's, Sushi School at intu Braehead.

WHAT IS SUSHI SCHOOL?
Sushi School is a sushi making class for adults (with Mini Ninja classes for 5-12 year olds) – it’s interactive, fun and you don’t need to know anything about sushi (except possibly eating it) to join in!

HOW TO BOOK A SUSHI SCHOOL?
To book a Sushi School please contact your local YO!

HOW LONG DO THE CLASSES LAST?
Each class normally lasts two hours.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CLASS?
You'll sit at the YO! Sushi counter with your rolling mat, gloves, condiments, recipe cards and ingredients all laid out in front of you. Your chef will say hi to you all, then start by showing you some fresh fish and what to look out for if you want good quality and freshness. They’ll give a display of their fish cutting skills and then get into constructing and rolling different types of sushi.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?
After seeing the fish cut, they’ll show you how to cook the perfect sushi rice at home. Then the chef will show you how to roll! They'll take you through how to make some of YO! Sushi's most popular dishes, step by step.

WHAT WILL I MAKE IN THE CLASS?
This will change depending on the number of people in the class, their dietary requirements, and if there are any specials on the menu that day. As everything is freshly made, lots of things could change, but some examples are:

  • Avocado Maki
  • Vegetable Yasai Roll
  • Salmon Nigiri
  • Kaiso Gunkan
  • Salmon & Avocado Hand Roll

DO I GET TO TAKE ANY HOME?
Once you’ve rolled all your dishes, we’ll cut and box them up for you to take away. You’ll also get a professional sushi rolling mat, a guide to sushi making.

HOW DO I BOOK?
It’s as simple as booking a table to eat. Just call us on 01414132002 or pop in and book with one of the YO! Sushi staff.

HOW MUCH DO THE CLASSES COST?
They’re £30 per person or £50 for two people.
