intu Retail Services is now seeking to recruit a Technical Manager at our intu Braehead and Soar leisure centre. intu Braehead opened in September 1999, the first phase of one of the country's largest riverside regeneration projects. Located in Renfrewshire, some five miles south of Glasgow city centre, it is one of Scotland's leading shopping destinations. With over 100 of the UK's top retail names, intu Braehead appeals to shoppers of all ages and continues to attract new and exciting retailers. It offers a wide choice of shopping, dining and leisure including skating, curling, an international arena and business park. The innovative leisure centre 'Soar' is close by. intu Braehead has its own on site bus station and 6,500 free parking spaces.
The role of Technical Manager is to provide technical expertise and inspirational leadership for all centre based technical requirements including: reactive maintenance; planned maintenance; energy management and life cycle maintenance programmes for the centre.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage an in-house maintenance team of multi-skilled technicians and trades, be an excellent communicator and a clear decision maker. In addition, the Technical Manager will have the ability to drive operational performance improvement ensuring that first class delivery of customer services is maintained. Candidates will be able to provide clear evidence of technical leadership on project coordination and project management as part of a wider team for major projects. This will include design, planning and implementation of a variety of projects including integration with IP technology.
It is anticipated that candidates will have a high degree of technical knowledge in the building services environment including an in-depth understanding across a range of electrical and mechanical equipment; lighting, CCTV, heating and air conditioning, power supply and general fabric maintenance interfacing with networking technology.
Candidates will be qualified to a minimum of HND/HNC or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline and ideally hold membership of CIBSE. It would also be an advantage to have a good working knowledge of BMS, CCTV and CAFM systems.
