Purpose of Role

To assist the Branch Manager in maximising sales and profit of the branch through the effective day to day management of people and associated Company resources.

Must be able to take control of all Branch activity in the absence of the Branch Manager and communicate regularly with their Regional Area Manager.

Summary of Main Tasks

  • Review operational income with Area Manager in Branch Manager’s absence and maintain maximum efforts to achieve agreed operating income
  • Assist the Manager in the control of Company assets, including pledges, PDAs,  mobile phones and foreign currency
  • Support all staff in their day to day activities, encouraging them to cross sell other Ramsdens services
  • Report staff development needs to Branch Manager and assist with coaching where necessary
  • Ensure a high level of housekeeping is maintained within the Branch
  • Ensure all sales transactions are processed in line with Company procedures
  • Keep up to date with competitor activity
  • Ensure all Company documentation is completed within agreed timescales and to the agreed standard
  • In the absence of the Branch Manager, take responsibility for branch emails and ensure all are understood, communicated and actioned where appropriate
  • Manage customer complaints and ensure Branch Manager is kept informed
  • Complete rotas and holiday schedules as directed by Branch Manager
  • Actively participate in ½ hour training sessions and conduct these during absence of Branch Manager
  • Adhere to Company Policies and best practice at all times, ensuring audit criteria are achieved

· Have Retail experience as an Assistant Manager

· Able to demonstrate good customer and commercial awareness through practical experience
