Calder Tan

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes “That belongs in a museum.” Classic line. We’d like to think that if Indiana “watch me whip” Jones wore Goodwin Smith, he’d pick these. The Calder Tan Oxford is for those with both a touch of sophistication and adventure. Let’s face it, Jones was always more exciting than Bond. Jones wasn’t actually being paid to go in search of stolen priceless pieces of art. “Indie” did it out of principle. The Calder Tan is for those who are in need of a bit of escapism and adventure. Just don’t walk around brandishing a whip and breaking into old churches. Please. This tan, premium oxford brogue made from premium nubuck leather features an innovative X light phylon sole unit which is light, flexible and durable.

      Harwood Tan

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes Good choice sir. Well done. The Harwood tan and stone Oxford brogue is a special shoe. It really is. It’s one of three styles of GS brogues that go through a unique GS process to give it that distressed look. It’s called the GS tumble wash method. Basically the shoes are made then polished. Bear with us. Next they’re thrown into a giant tumble drier with pebbles, wood and water. However, we like to mix things up to give it our unique stamp. We throw in a giant stag bust and a copy of our brand bible into each spin guaranteeing that the brogues on your feet are like no others out there. This tumble washed two tone oxford brogue features a leather sock and lining printed with the famous GS stag detail.

      Embassy Petrol Blue

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes Let’s be honest, history is boring. Unless, that is, it’s about something you care about. Like football, shoes…or the growth of anal. In any case, here’s the history of the monk strap shoes you’ve wisely bought. Surprise surprise, the monk strap came from monks who started wearing a basic version around 1000-1350 BC. They’d had enough of sandals and were in need of something more protective and comfortable while they were working. The sturdy monk strap shoe became a popular alternative. What you see before you is years of holy refinements. In the name of the Father, the Son and… This navy and petrol two tone, double monk strap shoe boasts analine and Italian leather with a chiselled toe. The leather sole, with a TPR anti-slip forepart, is laser etched with our GS stag logo.

A gent can never have too many shoes Now hear this. Not only does Norway’s richest man live in Chelsea but Eden Hazard does too. Goodwin Smith CEO Tim Smith once bumped into Eden during a stroll in Chelsea. “Blue is the colour, football in the game…” Hazard said. “We’re all together…” Tim carried on the chant, “And winning is our aim, so cheer us on through the sun and rain…” And then Eden said, “that’s enough now Timothy.” And Tim said, “How do you know my name, Eden?” True story. 100 per cent. Hebden Bordo

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes The Hebden Bordo, or the red wine plimsoll as we like to call it here at GSHQ has a pretty engaging backstory. It was created from the aftermath of a Goodwin Smith new range party that got a tad messy. Oh boy. One of those nights when you wake up the next day and say, “Is this earth?” or “Why are we potholing in Croatia?” Clearing up the wreckage the following morning we found a plimsoll prototype drenched in red wine. Our chief designer put his pants on, picked up the shoe, held it high in the air and screamed, “Eureka, I’ve got it!” He then immediately passed out but the rest, they say, was a verbal warning. This burgundy premium-burnished leather plimsoll boasts a subtle brogue detail topline. In addition, there's a leather sock and lining printed with the famous GS stag detail and a contrasting TPR rubber sole.

      Manhattan Black and Bordo

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes There’s a very good reason why our Manhattan bordo/black Oxfords are the colour they are. It’s a dirty, secret. But since you’re gagging to know…Goodwin Smith is very precise when it comes to quality control and only allows the perfect shoes to be sent out to a member of the GS Club. You. Our inspectors use a uniquely developed coding system when assessing the shoes. Blue/Green means “woah boy, what the fuck is this?” Yellow/Green means “getting there sunshine” but red/black signals “get those fucking packaged now.” Not a lot of customers know that. Trust us. Mitton Navy

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes We’ll let you into a bit of cheeky inside info here. Lean in. Get closer. A little closer. Too close. Perfect. The Mitton Navy loafer was originally going to be called the Blue Blood loafer on account of its colour. But after a screaming match with every other member of the GS team, including the cleaner – thanks for that Jan – we landed on Navy. Blue Blood of course means nobility. It’s not clear where the term came from but it’s probably something to do with our Royal Family’s history of hemophilia that gives the skin a blue appearance. We’ve strayed and for that we’re sorry. Enjoy the shoes. This leather tassle loafer with a blue wash dyed upper boasts brogue detail and a leather sole. In addition, the leather sock and lining is printed with the famous GS stag detail.

      Gisburn Tan

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes Say it with us: “GIZBUN”….no, not “GIS…BURN” but “GIZBUN”. That’s how we say it up here. In North. #Roylefamily. “I would like to leave this city…” Gisburn is a town famous for one thing and one thing only: the Gisburn bigcat. Before 1976 when the Dangerous Wild Animals Act came into force it was common to own a leopard or lion in the UK. Ok. Maybe not common but people did own big cats. On every street there was a guy knocking around with a puma. The Gisburn Tan Derby is a nod to the cougar (Mufasa) who was found roaming Gisburn Forest in 1978. The tan is a reference to the animal’s colour. Let’s hear you roar. This tan derby shoe with brogue detail uses richly burnished premium leather for the upper with double brogue toe cap detail. The leather sole, with a TPR anti-slip forepart, is laser etched with our GS stag logo.

      Ribble Tan

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes They are called the Ribble “Tan” loafers because everyone that wears a pair tends to have a tan. You know whom we mean. They are usually called “Hugh” “Christian” or “Tarquin”. They’ve just got back from spending a week jet-skiing in Cape Town or “yachting” off the west coast of Barbados. Be honest, you’re secretly jealous of Hugh who is so posh that most of his sentences sound like riddles, “let’s hop across to the shack and hire a runner to see Jonty.” Which means, “let’s book a flight to stay in the villa and hire a car to visit Jonty.” Slip them on; you’ll see what we mean. Allan Sage Grey

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes We know what you’re thinking. Why do these Allan Sage Green brogues feel so bloody smooth? They look like the backside of an Aston Martin DB9. Go on, lad, do a Bond impression. Anyway, the technique is called acid washed. To give you a better understanding, we consulted our chief designer Mat. Over to you Mat, “The leather used is called nubuck and is a soft one anyway, but a sponge covered in acid is rubbed over the surface of the leather to take off the top layer. All the imperfections are taken off basically which is how you get this very smooth and clean surface.” Thanks Mat. This shoe boasts an acid washed whole cut pattern and sage green colour. In addition, there's a leather sock, leather sole and lining printed with the famous GS stag detail.

      Embassy Black and Bordo

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes The story behind the Double Monk Strap is a corker. When Ernie Goodwin was travelling across Italy looking for the perfect leather, something very bad happened, something very bad indeed. In Milan a cheeky gypsy child snatched his passport from his pocket as Ernie was out walking the streets. No passport, no good. A young man wearing a black suit with a red tie had been watching the incident. He approached Ernie to help. Ha bisogno d'aiuto?! Ernie’s new friend knew where the British Embassy was and directed him accordingly. Next to the church by the Camparino in Galleria cafe in case you need to know. As a nod to Alessandro, Ernie decided to create a style after the man. The Embassy Black/Bordo is for those that have lost their way. This black and bordo, double monk strap shoe boasts analine and hi shine leather with a chiselled toe. The leather sole, with a TPR anti-slip forepart, is laser etched with our GS stag logo.

      Halton Sage Grey

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes The Halton Sage Green loafer is a personal favourite of world genius Kanye West. How do we know? When asked on the red carpet what his favourite colour was, he said, “I am Jesus.” Cheers. He also said, “You should only believe about 90 per cent of what I say. As a matter of fact, don’t even believe anything that I’m saying at all. Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed. I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book’s autograph. First, you’re going to have to embrace your inner scrubber and get to grips with the 2 polish brushes. But what good are shoe brushes without polish we hear you cry? Not. To. Worry. You’ll also be furnished with two tins of polish: neutral and black. A word to the wise – don’t use black one on anything but black shoes. To help give an added touch of sophistication to your newly polished shoes you’ll need a cloth. Although there isn’t one to be seen in the product image, we promise you will be getting one with your purchase. Use the cloth for a quick buff or a more intense clean and polish. Finally, no shoe kit would be complete without something to help you get the things on. Enter the folding metal shoehorn. Like a blowup doll, just simply unfold it and let yourself slip inside.

      Gisburn Navy

      Goodwin Smith

A gent can never have too many shoes Fun fact: The US Navy is ditching their Navy blue uniforms. Why? Because aside from it making soldiers look like “blueberries”, it’s apparently bloody uncomfortable to wear. Soldiers have complained of the blue uniform being highly flammable, heavy and only able to provide camouflage if they threw themselves into the sea. That last one is a cracker. Imagine the lad that said that to his boss during a meeting. “Yeah, they chaff around the crotch area a bit. I’m also worried about the uniform catching fire at any moment and having to throw myself overboard…where I’ll be safer because I’m wearing f*cking blue!” This navy derby shoe has brogue detail and a richly burnished premium leather upper with double brogue toe cap detail. The leather sole, with a TPR anti-slip forepart, is laser etched with our GS stag logo.

A gent can never have too many shoes Imagine instead of Donald Trump making it to the White House, the U.S. chose a candidate with Mexican heritage. Those Latinos love to party. Just think of inauguration day. Thousands of Latinos on Capitol Hill shouting, “Julio! Julio! Julio!” We don’t know what he’d be called but Julio Iglesias is a solid guess. Presidente Iglesias would step out onto the stage. He would be so proud. He’d be wearing a white suit and a pair of bordo leather tassel loafers, “Gracias, gracias… We did it! Today is going to be a good day for America.” You could be like Julio some day, one of the lads yet the top dog. Be like Julio. This bordo leather tassle loafer boasts brogue detail with a leather sole. The leather sock and lining is printed with the famous GS stag detail.

A gent can never have too many shoes Baz, the GS logistics director loves football. He. Bloody. Loves it. Gooooooaaaaaal! he shouts as he launches a football at the noticeboard. We’ve lost nine photocopiers because of that nutter. The Gisburn Bordo Derby pays respect to Baz’s favourite team – the one and only Burnley F. C. Also known round here as "The Clarets” and famous for having some of footballs most passionate fans. Don’t hold that against Baz, we are a truly Lancashire brand after all. This one is for those GS Club members who are full of passion, confidence and controversy. No Baz, never shout “on your head” in a boardroom meeting. This bordo derby shoe with brogue detail boasts a richly burnished premium leather upper with double brogue toe cap detail.
