intu Braehead are looking for a team member to join their exciting a passionate leisure team. Based within Braehead Arena and Curling rink intu Braehead are hiring for an ice technician.
To ensure that the ice function and associated operations across the arena and curling are operated and maintained efficiently and effectively with special key emphasis on consistency.
Integrate and recruit part time ice technicians, leisure attendants across various operations.
To maintain high standards in cleanliness and maintenance of the facility and equipment.
Plan and initiate seasonal startup procedures and install ice surfaces in accordance with industry standards.
Maintain the ice surfaces to ensure a clean and level ice surface between opening and closing of the arena and curling season.
Prepare for end of season closing and ice removal across both arena and curling.
To maintain regular communications with members and user groups.
Maintain the proper and safe storage, cleaning, protection and inventory of ice surface equipment over the summer months
Perform maintenance and repairs
Maintain daily logs and appropriate logs on equipment
Maintain the arena and curling plant and associated areas in a clean and safe condition
Be responsible for the management and implementation of various requirements with our service providers (ice plant, ice resurfacer etc)
Duty management duties and any other duties as required across the wider business such as assisting with events.
A minimum of 2 years' experience as an Ice Technician in a curling environment.
Ideally you will hold an Ice Technician Level 1 or upwards certificate.
Good IT skills (MS Office/Outlook etc).
First aid qualification is desirable.
Driving licence essential.
Adaptable and flexible.
A good problem solver with strong planning & organising skills
Strong communicator - both verbal and written
Supervisory experience and the ability to maintain a strong motivational approach is desirable.
You will have a proven track record of using your own initiative and delivering under pressure in a reactive environment
